Currently in San Francisco — October 31, 2023: Autumnal Halloween

Plus, a frigid Halloween night nationwide.

The weather, currently.

An autumnal Halloween

Tuesday will be another autumnal day, with a cool overcast morning giving way to a sunny midday high of 70. By evening, clouds will return and the temps will drop just below 50. If you didn’t handle your Halloween festivities over the weekend, be safe — and stay warm — out there on Tuesday night.

What you need to know, currently.

Temperatures 10 to 25°F colder than normal will shroud most of the United States on Halloween, bringing a chill to any planned spooky festivities.

Freeze warnings stretch from southern California to Louisiana to eastern Pennsylvania, and some places like western North Dakota may even dip below zero Fahrenheit on Tuesday morning.

If you have a Halloween costume that’s winter-adaptable, I’d recommend it. Like maybe “Lavender Haze” Taylor instead of “Shake it Off” Taylor??
