Currently in San Francisco — Sep 6, 2023: A mostly sunny Wednesday

Plus, meet the new San Francisco newsletter writer, Britta Shoot!

The weather, currently.

A mostly sunny San Francisco day ahead

September is typically when summer arrives in San Francisco, and this year is no exception. But while this is technically our hottest season, moderate winds and our reliably variable microclimates mean you’ll likely still want to layer in these early summery days.

While much of the country endures a spike of heat this week, SF will continue holding steady on Wednesday with highs near 70 during the day and mostly sunny skies citywide. Winds will increase in the afternoon with occasional gusts up to 20mph until evening. Overnight temps will hover in the mid-50s with partial cloud cover returning. And breathe easy, as the air quality in the city remains good.
